What musicians say

The violins I build are made to be played. Below you’ll find the words of musicians who play an Eveldt violin every day: in the concert hall, in the orchestra, and as soloists. Their words say more about an instrument than I ever could.

Spanish Baroque violinist and violist

“Without question, the finest violin I have ever owned.”

Since 2024 I have been playing a violin built by Elise Veldt, the “Judas,” based on the Stradivari “Harrison” model with arching inspired by the Stainer style. Even at an early stage the instrument already had a rich, resonant voice, abundant in overtones and remarkably responsive. As it has matured, these qualities have only deepened.

I have put it to the test in chamber music, orchestral work, and as a soloist. In every setting it has proven outstanding and utterly reliable. There was an immediate connection from the very first moment, and I know it is the violin that will accompany me for many years to come.

I also own the violino piccolo “Paul,” after a beautifully preserved 1613 instrument by Girolamo Amati. It is an extraordinary copy, remarkable in both ornamentation and construction. To me, “Paul” is a little gem: an instrument of great beauty, personality, and artistry.
